A heart that belongs to Hills...

One of those nights when you leave behind your very own city, on way back to home from a tiring day at work, without any prior sign of travel schedule and land somewhere up in the hills as the day breaks... This is what life used to be some half a decade back, and now, it feels so good to be back to life, to be back to hills unexpected..... Yes, I have a heart that belong to Hills :)

That grin on the face climbing up and down on those curves are going to last till next time :)

Travel: Tübingen, Germany

During my recent trip to Germany, a friend suggested to visit this small but beautiful University town, Tübingen. 30 kms down South of Stuttgart and on the banks of the Neckar river, this town was just perpect for me to spend a nice sunny day. So many things were just perfect for this little town to explore, walkable, less tourist, vibrant, cozy, beautiful colors everywhere, yummy black forest cakes and fantastic potato wedges in weekly market.

Travel: Uig, Isle of Skye

From the recent trip to Scottish Highlands, the one sleepy place I really liked is Uig in Isle of Skye. Uig is another harbor town and connects to Tarbert in Isle of Harris with ferry.

'Uig Pier' as seen from 'The Cowshed'

'The Fairy Glen'

Uig behind... from ferry, on the way to Tarbert.

Places to Stay: Uig has some really good options to stay at. Uig Hotel, The CowShed and there are few B&Bs can be seen and found. We had a booking for two beds in 'The Cowshed', it is a boutique bunkhouse looking at the Uig Pier. Really a beautiful place to stay at and enjoy. But they don't serve food, so get food along. It is a good place for a bunch of bachelors to party and enjoy.

Address: The Cowshed Boutique Bunkhouse, Uig, Isle of Skye, IV51 9YD

Travel: The Temple Cafe, Isle of Harris (United Kingdom)

Isle of Harris is a fantastic place to roam around to enjoy the beauty of Scottish highlands. But when it comes to food, it really don't offer many options in and around outer Hebrides. Tarbert has two good places to eat. We did see many road signs in outer Hebrides showing directions to 'Temple Cafe' and we got to see this small yet beautiful structure near Northton beach and stopped over for a quick bite on our way back.

The best thing for me at 'Temple Cafe' was its architecture and the beautiful surrounding. Food was really good, we had some home-made pizza and it was just excellent. For us, this location was an unexpected stop-over for food. Being a scheduled dinner for some fresh lobsters that evening we did not try much of the things.
(If you are a sea-food lover and looking for something good to eat in Isle of Harries, then you should try out 'The Hebrides' just at the pier and in front of the tourist information center. I believe, they serve sea food for dinner only.)

Travel: Roadtrip to Scottish Highlands

Last July, while in London for few days this quick 1500+ miles road trip did happen... and what an amazing trip it was as most of the time was spent in driving. Nothing is pleasure but being on road. Beautiful lake district, open highways, historical cities, drive thru forests, some beautiful lakes, ferries, Scottish highlands, view of Glenfinnan Viaduct (Harry Potter Bridge), staying in some beautiful 'Bread & Breakfast' and 'Bunk Houses'... And many other stuff. Did I forget to mention about the food! And many stunning images... Stay tuned :)

Delhi Frankfurt AirIndia Experience

What an impressive first view of the German Autobahn :)

This July, I was off to Germany. The AirIndia flight from Delhi to Frankfurt was an AirBus. It was a very pleasant experience with AirIndia as usual with some nice food. The 8 hour long flight had the scheduled departure of 13.00 hours IST and seemed quite comfortable as it landed at 16.30 hours local German time. With this timing there hardly was any jet-lag.

Independence Day 2015

Met this guy painted beautifully in tri-color on independence day morning while roaming around Bhubaneswar. No doubt that seeing our tri-color in any form makes us feel proud. Proud to be Indian. Jai Hind.

Travel: Love Locks, Cologne (Germany)

Love locks is a very romantic tradition/costom, believed to be originated from Italy some 100 years ago, during the World War I. A 'Love Lock' basically is a padlock fixed to a bridge or fence by sweethearts to show their loyalty to each other. It is there in many cities all over the world with different beliefs and traditions.

In the city of Cologne, couples put padlocks as a proof of their love on the 'Hohenzollern Bridge' over river Rhein and then throw the keys into the river to ensure everlasting love.

While having a closer look to these symbols of love, you will find many colorful customized padlocks with engraves of name, date etc. Also with decorations and personal stuff like rings etc. These locks are present in thousands of numbers and weighs tonnes.

Architecture: Kunstmuseum, Stuttgart

Designed by Berlin based architects 'Hascher and Jehle', Kunstmuseum is like a building inside building. With a beautiful glass cubical wrapping around the main lime stone structure, this art gallery comes to life as it gets dark. During the day it seems like a glass cube carefully installed at the Stuttgart city center with all historical elements around. With such a strong design principle, this building defines its presence by speaking its own language.

This beautifully crafted building has about 50000 Square Feet of exhibition space. With an approximate investment of 67 million Euros, this building was inaugurated in 2005.

Travel: Tea Garden Near Dhramshala, Himachal Pradesh

With it's lush greenery and uneven surface... Tea Gardens almost look like a nicely woven green carpet. Munnar in Southern part of India no doubt is the paradise for such landscape lovers, also for photographers. Unlike many locations in South, North has hardly any option to enjoy such beauty. And did I forget to mention the Darjeeling stretch and Assam!!! Though the travel freaks from that part curse Northern guys for being at such close proximity to Himalayan range... anyways.
Himachal Pradesh offers glimpses of tea gardens in Palampur. Recently, I found a small stretch just 3-4 kilometers down Dharamshala during my visit and did spend quite some time roaming around and clicking few images. What I loved most about this small patch was, the light and shadow play of the trees poping up in between tea estate.
This 'MANN Tea Estate' is on Narghota Road.
