A Month well spent...

Ah... Finally a month well spent. A superb road-trip down South from Delhi to Banglore, some interesting Architectural photo-shoots, some photography experiments, portfolio shoots, some photo walks, the wet rain here in NCR and also putting my resignation and lot more ... It was THE month I should say ;)

DAKU Again...

Photobucket

As always, a graffiti on the wall means I have to stop there. Recently I had another encounter with Daku on Janpath, CP around mid-night. This time on a corrugated iron sheet...

I am an Indian and I am Proud of it...

Photobucket

Proud to be Indian... But How proud I am! In a country where people sing songs like 'Sone ki chidiya, dengue maleria... Urbi hai gober bhi yahan, Bharat mata ki Jai'.
65 years of Independence and we as an educated citizen (so-called) of the country we have a long list of complaints. We are absolute pissed off with the corruption of public servants but at the same time we don't hesitate to pay few hundred rupees for a simple work in Government offices like getting the birth certificate or something like that and our excuse is 'I don't have time, I can't waste a day off from work'. But is this excuse accptable to make things better! Are not we making things worst! At the same time we are supporting the public movement against corruption but are we totally doing our part to make things perfect!
I don't understand the complexities of Economics though my Dad is a banker. As he works with a Nationalized bank, he seems to be concerned for the money of our country. I remember his advices long back to do our part of contribution for a stronger economy. How many of us who are in corporate world do business with Nationalized banks! I definitely am not denying the technical aspects or advancemets or level of service provided from the private sector but can not we reach up to that level!
Coming to the tourist destinations, we prefer to visit foreign land, prefer to see the historic monuments there but are we aware of the history of our country!
Once visited Foreign land, then we are obsessed with every other thing from there. Starting from cleanliness to their excotic cars, but once back to our own country we don't hesitate to throw garbages away from car on roads. Then how can we keep complaining! We definitely are 120 crore in population and education plays an important role but is it a tough job!
I think I can go on and go on with the issues, so better to stop.

This definitely is not the case with everyone but some, we belong to India and we definitely have responsibilities to make things better and it is absolutely not a Herculean task... Thinking about our country, our people and our place will definitely make us feel better. Lets do our part... Jai Hind.

You can KILL me for this... But I was NOT like this, I clearly remember those days of early 90s when I saved each penny to grab Kenny G's 'Breathless', I obviously was mad over Saxophone at that point of time and even I don't remember for how long was that cassette was there inside the Walkman I had...
Does this mean that I am not listening to music these days! But it is more or less something like that but my taste is something like Sufi ones and the catchy notes from the fresh releases do please my ear at times ;)
And yes, Kenny G definitely is my all time favorite followed by Avida Parveen...

This Temple is located just beside PWO Apartments in-front of HUDA City Center Metro station. Popularly known as Hanuman Temple but it is the adobe of many deities from different parts of the country. Oh Yes, unlike we got a variety of food and dressing habit in different parts of the country, we also do worship to a variety of Hindu God and Goddess in different regions of the country.
Here we can find Lord Jagannath from Puri, Dakhineswari Kali Mata from Kolkata and Lord Venkateswara from down South along with Siridi Sai Baba, Hanuman Jee, Vaishno Mata, Ram Jee, Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna with Radha. On the occasion of 'Janmashtami', may Lord Krishna keep you safe and sound.

'Janmashtami' is celebrated as birth day of 'Lord Krishna' as a very famous Hindu festival all around the world. Lord Krishna is the most popular avatar or incarnation of Lord Vishnu among Hindus. Epic stories say, Krishna was born in Mathura in Uttar Pradesh some 5000 years ago in the cosmic phase of 'Dwapar Yuga'. Hindus celebrate the birth of their beloved God with fast and recitation of his glory.

Partners in Crime

Photobucket

These are the 4 guys, 4 close friends, who spent 2500+ kilometers of drive, Ranee, Anil, Om and yours truly ;) (L to R)
I was behind the wheels for some 2200+ kms as it is very difficult for me to sit in a car as a passanger. I really appreciate the other three for being seated for hours and tolerating all my insanity, may it be rash driving or staying awake all night because of my habit of night drive or parking the car in the middle of nowhere during night to get a power nap... Ranee and Anil, you both are one of the sweetest and coolest couple I have ever met. Love you all guyz, we had all the FUN.
And yes, hope you remember the Kanyakumari thing... Soon ;)

P.S. This particular picture, a 30 second exposure one, was shot sometime after mid-night on the way to Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur on the first day of Delhi-Bengaluru road-trip and this also is the only frame having all four of us :)

Am I hooked to this German!!!

I never dated a VW except saying some hellos and hi at time somewhere around, but this German always impressed me starting from its launch in India, may it be the nice looking hatch-backs or its nicely built stalls at Auto-Expo, there always was something striking. But honestly, doing a test drive to know a Car is hell different than driving it for some 2500+ kilometers, in the later case the Car let you know about it. Recently I drove down a VW Polo TDI starting from New Delhi to down south, Bengaluru. Driving on Golden Quadrilateral for more than 40% of its length could not be better to appreciate this German Engineering.

I am a great fan of hatch-backs, especially the 3 door ones. Reasons are many, it gives me a coziness of space but most importantly it allows me a greater driving experience. I always am more confident on road with this than with a Sedan. This type is also much more popular in Europe, because they definitely are more fuel-efficient as well as user friendly. Anyways.

VW Polo was first caught in my eyes back in 2010 Auto-Expo as Polo CUP, the rally ready. I was totally in appreciating it and the first I got to hold the steering was back in UK, a friend's Flash Red 3 door. After driving few miles I absolutely was hooked to it. Coming back to the Indian one, the 5 door one, let me tell you the things which attracted me towards it during 2010 Auto-Expo was, its lovely shape, the curvy edge of the hatch, even the trunk opener/hatch opener (it is the VW logo in the middle of the trunk) and the lamps, both the front parking lamp and the tail lamp (the tail lamp always gave me a feeling of a robots eye).
It was launched in 2010 and after 2 years I had a good time with this machine, bit late though ;)
And answer to the question is YES... I loved it.

Enjoy few of the pics shot en-route this Delhi-Banglore run until I am back with next part of the story... Cheers.

Delhi-Bengaluru covered ;)

Photobucket
Yes, you read it right...

Finally, one more much awaited drive completed... Golden Quadrangle Part-II. This 2500+ kilometers of Delhi to Bengaluru ride was absolute fun. Thank God and for all your wishes. Loads of stories to share, very soon... ;)
