Travel: Ganga Jee Aarti at Haridwar

Har-ki-Pauri is believed to be the most devotional ghats on the banks of River Ganga in Uttarakhand. Each day comes to an end here with 'Maha Aarti' as evening offerings to Goddess Ganga, with thousands of devotees on a regular day and millions on special days. The timing is about 6pm in the evening and it varies with the sunset timings in Summer and Winter.

Few glimpses from the ghats captured recently.

Religion: Aarti of Ganga Jee at Sangam, Allahabad

(Devotional offering to Goddess Ganga(River Ganges) at Sangam, Allahabad)

River Ganges has a special importance in Hindu Religion and is considered as the most Holy river in India. Every evening, the Aarti or offering ritual is performed at holy places on the river bank. At Rishikesh, Haridwar, Allahabad and Varanasi, this spiritual ritual is very powerful.

For the first time, I witnessed this at Triveni Sangam, Allahabad.
