Sewing Machines ;)

Today evening, while walking through the lanes of Mehrauli, I just came across with this shop who repairs 'Sewing Machines'. I realized after walking few steps ahead and stopped to take the camera out. Those rustic old machines there for repair and maintenance were quite interesting to me. Some shots from street after long :)

I was so much in an impression that these are out of use... sigh. And it also reminded me my dissertation days, when I bought a 'Hosqueverna' fully automatic sewing machine for some 200 GBP and took over a week to learn how to operate it. The funniest thing was, it took numerous replay of an YouTube video and some 3+ hours to put the first thread... Huh. It really was fun to add parameters to various fabrics and to use them to create pre-cast concrete blocks. Should post them in a separate post sometime ;)

Information:
The invention of 'Sewing Machine' is quite controversial and the STORY starts from 1755. A German immigrant Charles Weisenthal took a patent in London for a needle to be used for mechanical sewing. And the machine by a young British inventor Thomas Saint in 1790 is believed to be the first real sewing machine.
And the story line kept moving back to Germany, Australia and then America.

Today I spent some good time with this Lohar family who belong to Chittor, Rajasthan but live here in Gurgaon in temporary huts and do their traditional smith work and also sell clay pots and products for their living.

Their family consists of 4 kids with their parents and their grand mother, the father and elder son mostly do the smith work while their only daughter helps in firing the coal which is used to make the steel/iron red hot. Lot more to share about the family who were very very hospitable and were kind enough to offer me dinner. Thank you very much, I will see you again this Sunday.

When 'YOU' decided to leave...

On one fine day YOU decided to leave, I also thought, me never LOVED you and it is going to be the END of an ever established relationship.... So damn wrong I was!!!

Now don't let this slow POISON to kill me, 'm checking every mode of communication now and then without any reason just to ensure myself if I have received something, named YOU. Where was this bloody feeling when we were together, why I never realized the same when you were beside me... why!!!

But at the same time, is it the EGO that is preventing me to buzz you and ask 'Whatz up!!', pretty unsure about that... but might be. Actually those dampen eyes were MINE, not yours. Now 'm all at sea and about to press the call button, 'm pretty sure I can't speak a single word but I want to HEAR you...
