Studio Life
Life has been unexpectedly busy since last few months, and time is just flying by. And at times 'm also getting difficulties to realize when the day starts and when it ends! Most of the time is spent in the STUDIO and not to mention, 'm loving it ;)

St. Pancras International: The home of 'Euro-star'
On of London's most popular landmark, St. Pancras International train station has a rich and colorful history. It is one of the great Victorian building in the city and is considered as home to 'Euro-star' as well as other high speed rail service in UK.
This train station was designed in 1863 by William Barlow, the Engineer in Chief to the Midland Railway Company. 689 ft long, 100 ft high and a span of 243 ft was the largest enclosed space in the whole world for a long period. The most important is the SPAN of 243 ft. The structure was completed in year 1868.
The span of 243 ft, it is incredible.
A creation of sculpture Paul Day, this 9 meter high bronze statue of a couple is known as 'The Meeting Place'.

Graffiti
Graffiti are the painted or scratched letters or paintings on the walls. Or you can say, these are the abstract wall paintings. Spray paints and markers are the modern day tools for this art. But it is more considered as vandalism rather than art. In my personal opinion, it is another form of art and creativity.
The history of graffiti is quite old. The earliest form is around 30,000 year old and found in the form of pre-historic cave paintings. And the first known modern style graffiti is believed to be an advertisement for prostitution in an ancient Greek city. But the urban form of graffiti came from New York city during the late 1960's and it started with tagging names on the subway trains.
Brazil has a significant tradition in graffiti art in the current scenario though the vibe has spread all over the world.
These are few of my recent Graffiti captures here from Nottingham, UK.

Birmingham, United Kingdom
The second most populated city in United Kingdom after London is 'Birmingham' and is ranked 55th for the most livable city in the world. It is also popularly known as 'The Second City' and 'City of Thousand Trades'.
The name 'Birmingham' came from the tribal leader 'Birm' or 'Biorma' and Birmingham means, home of followers of Biorma. The earliest evidence proves the human settlement here to be 10,400 years old. During the 7th century it was a hamlet of farmers. The city was bombarded badly during IInd world war and was reconstructed during 1950 and 1960. And one fifth of the whole population are from southern part of Asia.
Birmingham is also the home of 'Cadbury Chocolates' founded by John Cadbury. But later in 1879 his sons Richard and George Cadbury moved their manufacturing unit from Bull Street, Birmingham to Bournville.
The City Council...
Cathedral...
Selfridges Birmingham... (It has 15,000 Aluminium discs)
The Christmas Market...
Places to Visit: Bull Ring shopping Center, Cadbury World (Bournville), National Exhibition Center (NEC), National Motorcycle Museum, Selfridges Birmingham, Soho House etc.

Have a great 'Weekend'
Hello Everyone,
Since last week, life was extraordinarily busy... It's not at all a complain, rather 'm loving the University life. Even no photo updates, as I broke my ultra wide angle lens few days back. Thanks to all my carelessness :(
It is going to be a relaxing week for me and I wish you are going to have a blast over the weekend :)

The 'SNOWY' Affair
It's snowing heavily here in the United Kingdom Midlands and Nottingham is also not escaped..... This time it is snowing here quite early and heavily, even the bad weather is giving a tough time to the people who are living here since last 20 years....
And our whole campus has turned white, except few tar strips and it is a completely different experience for most of the International students. Though they are struggling to resist the weather but you can bet they are having a great time and lovely experience.

December 2010 Calender
And here the YEAR 2010 comes to the end...
My Year 2010 Calender was dedicated to Ladakh, India. Thanks all for appreciating this series... I don't think I'll be able to create something vibrant like this in near future, but I hope to raid Leh/Ladakh again next year...

Let me be 'Alone'...
People say it's difficult to walk on the way of life Alone.... but try it, you will never be disappointed.
This what the statue said to me on a lonely chilly blue hour of the evening, standing all alone beside a grand recreation ground in Birmingham City, UK and enjoying the 'First Snow Fall'.

Snow Updates
Some more snow updates.... Could not manage to get my kind of photographs as I was traveling, still few shots from the station and while traveling.
I was expecting a gray and gloomy weather when winter hits but the Blue Sunny Sky above and the white blanket on mother Earth was just stunning... I would go crazy if was in a country side...
And it's not snowing since last two days but the temperature is not rising above zero, and 'm yet to see my University and all the frozen lakes there...

The First 'SNOW'
Finally as per weather forecast it snowed here in Nottingham and it is quite early this year. If I remember correctly it snowed here during the second week of December.
So it is the official announcement of WINTER to show it's presence.
Being a super-lazy person, it took me around 1 hour to take my cam out and go shooting at 4.30 am in the morning but sad that by that time snowfall stopped :(

TopGear
STIG...
I so much wanna hit the ROAD.... hopefully soon during December.
Some addition to the post for people who don't know about STIG:
If you ever seen the TV show 'Top Gear' by BBC then you must know about 'STIG'. He is the mysterious 'Top Gear' driver... The character was having a full masked black crash helmet and complete black racing suit during the start of the show but after his death during the third season the new avatar came with complete WHITE outfit and having a black visor on his helmet. It is still a mystery that who plays this character and what is his identity! In an episode BBC reviled the mask and it was 'Schumacher' behind the suit...

The First LAYER of ICE
Today morning we got to see a proper white layer covered on the grass outside our school. Yes, the frozen drops of dew... Though we already have seen this earlier 2 weeks before on top of cars once, but it was the proper topping this time. And even I found thin layer of slippery ice on pathways, which we used to call 'Black Ice' on tarmac roads.
It was freezing cold outside yesterday and it seemed that blood is about to change it's form to solid and you will be converted to a snowman. So finally winter is here and temperature already has started torturing us with it's sub-zero marks...
Wish me a Emotionless FREEZING winter... :)

London Blues
Visited London last month for a field trip and had a good time there. Student Life is just dominating over everything and restricting from all the regular blogging and photographic rituals. So I hope my regular readers will bear with me following small small posts like this :P
Tower Bridge...
St. Paul Cathedral...
The City Hall...
The SKYLINE...
As I mentioned, it was a field trip, so most of the frames I captured are mostly related to Architecture... But I hope to be there in the City again soon and to FRAME it the way I want. Hope you will wait for the update.
Cheers.
