The Chariots

On the occasion of Rath Yatra (Car Festival) the deities, Lord Balabhadra, Lord Subhadra and Lord Jagannath use Chariots to reach aunt's house. And these chariots do have their own significance and are neither similar.

1. NANDIGHOSHA (Chariot of Lord Jagannath)

This 16 wheeled wooden chariot stands tall by 44' 2" and is made up of 832 wooden pieces. Wrapped in Yellow and Red clothes, Nandighosha is pulled by 'Sankhachuda Naguni', the rope.


2. DEBADALANA (Chariot of Lord Subhadra)

This 12 wheeled wooden chariot stands tall by 42' 3" and is made up of 593 wooden pieces. Wrapped in Black and Red clothes, Debadalana is pulled by 'Swarnachuda Naguni', the rope.


3. TALADHWAJA (Chariot of Lord Balabhadra)

This 16 wheeled wooden chariot stands tall by 43' 3" and is made up of 763 wooden pieces. Wrapped in Green and Red clothes, Taladhwaja is pulled by 'Basuki Naga', the rope.
